Gillian is an experienced Chairman and NED following an Executive career as a Marketing Director and a CEO. Highlights include launching the Next Directory & the Royal Mail turnaround. She founded Board Mentoring in 2008 and works personally with CEOs and Directors of leading International companies.
Gillian is writing a book “A Mentor’s Guide to Leadership Success” based on her experiences & those of women leaders internationally. Gillian also Chairs technology business jisp.com and UK Coaching.
Her background in retail, logistics, and consumer markets is combined with her work more recently in sport, energy and as a member of the Industrial Development Advisory Board since 2012. Winner of the Sunday Times NED of the Year Award in 2014 for her work on corporate governance. Gillian joined Senet at its formation in January 2015 as an NED and took over as Chairman in Nov 2017.
Sarah Hanratty MCIPR

Sarah Hanratty was Deputy Chief Executive & Director of Corporate Affairs for the Portman Group leading responsible alcohol standards for the UK. She was responsible for policy, strategy and communications to promote responsible marketing and reduce alcohol misuse. Sarah has worked on a wide range of industry-led initiatives to reduce alcohol misuse and promote safe and vibrant night time economies. These include the Government’s Responsibility Deal and the Home Office’s Modern Crime Strategy. She has led thought leadership and stakeholder engagement programmes to promote understanding of the UK’s drinking habits and to enable targeted policy responses.
She joined the Portman Group as Head of External Affairs in 2010 from the National Lottery Commission where she led communications for the international National Lottery licence competition with responsibility for strategy, corporate communications, media and stakeholder relations.
Prior to that, she was Press Secretary to the Leader of the House of Lords and Strategic Communications Manager for the Cabinet Office. She also worked in local government.
Sarah is also a non-executive director on the board of the Royal Yachting Association, a position she has held since 2014 and was named as one of Cranfield School of Management’s 100 Women to Watch List 2017. She began her career in local government and is a Member of the Company of Public Relations Practitioners, Women on Boards, PRCA and Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR).
Stephen Thornton has held senior executive and non-executive positions on public and third sector boards for a quarter of a century. He is presently Chair of the East of England Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care; a non-executive director of the Eastern Academic Health Science Network; a non-executive director of The Pathology Partnership; and a Council Member on the Nursing and Midwifery Council. He has previously been Deputy Chair of Monitor, the independent regulator for NHS Foundation Trusts and a Commissioner on the Healthcare Commission (forerunner of the Care Quality Commission).
Richard Flint is the Chief Executive of Sky Betting and Gaming (‘Sky Bet’) a Leeds based digital business with over 850 employees and over 1.5 million active customers. Sky Bet is now 80% owned by CVC and 20% by Sky, and Richard led the business through this £800m transaction in March 2015. Richard has been in charge of Sky Bet for over 8 years, and with the company for nearly 14 years. He holds Masters Degrees from Harvard and Oxford Universities, and was a consultant at McKinsey and Company.
Stephen Wilson has held a number of high profile positions leading online sales and marketing teams up to and including at Director level for high profile brands in industries including mobile and fixed telecoms, gas and electricity and travel. Stephen brings a significant expertise in digital to The Senet Group, he is a regular speaker at digital events and has mentored and advised a number of digital start-ups. He has an MBA and postgraduate qualifications in Marketing and 15 years’ experience driving significant results through online channels for FTSE 100 brands.
